Artists from Turkey who will be participating at 14th Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and Meditteranean

Works selected to be shown at the 14th Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and Mediterranean, in Skopje will be exhibited at Kasa Gallery. Works by Merve Ertufan (video), Nihal Martlı (painting), Melisa Önel (photography), Sümer Sayın (drawing) and Damla Tamer (drawing/installation) will be presented for the first time to a wide public and be on show between dates 25 March – 2 May 2009.

Merve Ertufan, (1985 İstanbul) In 2007 graduated from Sabancı University Visual Arts and Communication Design program. Currently, in Sweden she is studying her masters degree at Konstfack on ‘Art in the Public Realm’. In April 2008, she exhibited her work at Cheap Like Wow! show at UAMO Festival, Munich.

Nihal Martlı, (1982 Kars) After graduating from Hacettepe University Fine Arts/Painting department, she studied at Superior School of Art of Aix-en-Provence and DNSEP. In 2008 had a solo show at C.A.M gallery, Istanbul. Participated in many group shows in Turkey and abroad.

Melisa Önel, (1980 İzmir) Graduated from Tufts University, International Relations Department. In 2008 completed her post graduate studies at İstanbul Bilgi University, Cinema and TV Department. In 2008-09 participated at Greenhouse Documentary Film Project Development workshop as a producer. Last year showed her works at “Photonic Moments” exhibitions at Cige Art Fair, Beijing and in Vienna.

Sümer Sayın (1985 İstanbul) In 2007 graduated from Marmara University Painting Department. Currently studying her masters degree at Oslo National Art Academy. In 2008 participated and exhibited works at Athens Video Art Festival, Galata Perform Performance Days and Open Academy Oslo.

Damla Tamer (1986 İstanbul) In 2007 graduated from Sabancı University Visual Arts and Communication Design program. Since March 2008, is a resident artists at Borusan ArtCenter, open studio program. In February 2009, exhibited her work at Inappropriate Use group exhibition at C.A.M gallery, Istanbul.
